CARMONA
Only
30 Km. from Sevilla. Its origins overcome the Neolithic period.
It was an Iberian city, intensely romanized, receiving the privilege
to coin its own money. By Carmona passed the way of Augusta.
The actual city was reproduced with slight variations, the urbanistic
roman flat. This period was without a doubt one of the most brilliant,
the two doors of Sevilla and Córdoba, are from a Roman invoice.
But the most notable Roman monument is the Necropolis, unique in its
kind. During the Muslim era, it came to be the capital of one
of the Taifa kingdoms. It was the object of real predilection
during the reign of Pedro the Cruel. Duing the reign of Felipe
IV he was rewarded the title of the city.
The visit to the city you will begin visiting, in the first place,
the Roman Necrópolis.
After the Alcázar of the Puerta of Sevilla and walking by the
street of Prim, we will arrive to the Iglesia (Church) Prioral de
Santa María, constructed between the centuries XV and XVI, a true
museum of religious art of the history of Carmona.
We will continue the panoramic by foot, contemplating its palace
houses, of the Aguilar, of the Rueda, of the Lasso... until we arrive
to the Parador Nacional, fortress of the king Don Pedro, where
you will have a place for lunch.
