CÓRDOBA
Visit
to the city with a local guide: We
will visit the Mezquita, symbol of Musulmane Art during the time
of the Independent Califato and converted into a Cathedral. We
will follow our walk by the Barrio Judío (Jewish Neighborhood),
where the guide will help us to discover the beauty of the plazas, patios,
gardens, and murals up until we arrive to the small Synagogue
of the century XIV of the Mudéjar style.
The
visit will end with Lunch in the restaurant Almudaina or Caballo
Rojo
- COMPLETE DAY
EXCURSION:
Leave the hotel
by bus toward the Sierra de Montilla, for a guided visit of the
olive vineyards, and of presses located in old farms, continuing
with one of the traditional tonerías and ending in Bodegas
Alvear, where after we will journey to the facilities for a
tasting of their wines. Lunch. By the afternoon,
arrival to the Dehesa del Colmenar (Cabra), center of
interpretation of the Andalusian horse, where you will realize a
practical study: races, capas, morphology, equestrian psychology,
feeding, and taming of horses of pure Spanish race. We will visit
there stables and covered strips. Always by specialized
personnel. About 6:30pm return to Córdoba.
- CÓRDOBA AT
NIGHT:
We will propose a
route by foot, for the Tabernas (Taverns) of Córdoba
situated in the historic hull of the city. In this short walk we
will enter into the Plaza de las Tendillas , the heart of Córdoba,
and will continue toward the Plaza of San Miguel, where the tavern
“ Casa el Pisto “ is located, founded in the 1880´s, by their
reserve, not only as a reunion point for the cordobeses, but also
for the visitors. Their wines and their cooking is of “toma pan y moja
(bread and garlic) “. Tapa to tapa you are able to taste the
cordobesa gastonomy (lechuguita frita, manitas de cerdo, rabo de toro,
huevos al salmorejo, and in this way a large list).
As a complement,
we will continue our walk toward the "Bodegas
Campos". To enter in these cellars, is like passing by
the entrails of a small Moorish town. They are not two of the same
environments. Each patio is distinct and each environment
different: the room of the bullfighters, where you will be able to
admire a valiant collection of bullfighting posters that overcame
the 1902. Ship of the Arches. Patio of the ivy .... (we have the
option of eating tapas in a tavern or dinner in one of their
saloons). We will end the night with a drink in a "tablao flamenco"
of the city.
